 My friend Mary and her husband Pierre have a Basset Hound that they affectionately call “8-Ball.” They recently trained him to pull a sled to enter him in the local sled dog races and he ended up winning two bags of dog food… Way to go 8-Ball! Here is a funny picture we took yesterday!

 These two grizzlies were hunting for spawning salmon in the river. The little guy got swept downstream towards the bridge I was standing on. I love how even though he kept snorkeling for the fish as he was drifting downstream!  I saw this grizzly sitting on the side of the road on my way back from Laurelyn and Erik’s wedding in Bella Coola this weekend. He just sat there… and dug for ants while I took these great pictures of him. Do you see his claws??? Crazy!!! You can see more of my pelican pictures right here on Facebook!  I am going to affectionately call this Pelican “Charlie” after my late friend CE, who passed away two days before I took this picture. This pelican circled and soared, and dove to catch fish, endlessly all in front of me.  …in my eyes anyway! Calving season is my favourite time of the year! Here is a picture from yesterday when this heifer was just minutes old! Within 15 minutes she was on her feet! =) This was the view last night from my parent’s house. This morning we can’t see anything. There is a raging forest fire not very far away! Minnie was kind enough to pose for me as she sat guard on the four wheeler and I had a chance to master some sun flare =) |
